Hey all,

I recently purchased a new clown from my LFS labelled as a fancy ocellaris clown. After googling fancy ocellaris I'm more confused than I was when I bought it. Any idea what I bought and what colors this one will develop as an adult?

There are lots and lots of different types, we will need a pic to know for sure.

yeah, gotta post a pic. fancy isn't a breed ive heard of lol but it could be a snowflake, or black ice, or platinum lol there are a ton of different ones people have bred. post a pic and maybe we can help out more. this site is good to help with finding what you got but even its not all inclusive

Here's a pic, still a juvenile and I'm in the middle of the uglies so forgive me for that.
Looks like a normal clown to me...

Thanks!
Well.. they had the "regular ocellaris" for $10 and these in a separate tank labelled "fancy" for $18... While there I asked and they said this would be darker orange but I think I might have been duped.

Clowns typically go for around $20 so $18 is not bad and maybe it will get darker but who cares, its a nice looking fish!
