**Tank**
- Waterbox AIO 25 Peninsula (25g) mixed reef — softies, LPS, some SPS (no acros)
- Tropic Marin Pro Reef, 1.026 / 35 ppt, 1% automatic water change daily
- All For Reef + separate Ca/Mg dosing; mini algae turf scrubber in the rear chamber
- Lights 1PM–12AM, peak 3–9PM
**Latest params (8/8)**
- Alk 8.5 dKH | Ca 450 | Mg 1425
- NO3 1.8 | PO4 0.11
- pH 7.55–7.91
**Livestock (light bioload)**
- tailspot blenny, pistol shrimp, mandarin goby, fire fish, yasha goby, bengai cardinal, springer damsel
- Conch, emerald crab, hermits, nerite/astraea snails, shrimp, copepods
**The incident**
- 6/26: a container of food was accidentally dumped into the tank
- Back-to-back emergency water changes pulled alk ~9.6 → 7.5–8.0 in one day; dosing stayed at 8ml/day AFR into corals that had stopped consuming, so alk climbed back to 9.7 over the next ~3 weeks while nutrients bottomed out (NO3 ~0, PO4 0.03)
- ATS fouled at the same time — pH lows hit 7.5 until cleaned 7/6
- Monti + acan/blasto/goni started bleaching/retracting 7/11–7/18 (80% of the other corals seemed to be fine - just not popping)
- Lost my cleaner shrimp and a tiger goby
- Since 7/25 I cut AFR (8 → 5 → 6.5ml) and increased feeding
- Parameters stable again at numbers outlined above
- Monti + acan/blasto started to bounce back (I lost the gonis..) and tank looks balanced and healthy again
**What I need help with**
- One of my Favia/Favites has an area of tissue loss (photos attached) that seems to have appeared around the same time and seems to be spreading despite the rest of it growing like normal during the whole fiasco — looking for an ID on what it is and how to stop it / cure it?
