So my wife works at the local fish store ( yea discounts are great ) and she sent a picture of a feather star they got in. And i just had to give it a try. I know they are hard to keep and was wanting any info on food or anything from people that have had some luck.

Tank levels.

Nitrate. 0
Nitrite. 0
Po. .02
Cal. 410
Alk. 10.5 to 11.
Mag. 1400

I run a biodenitrator. Have 5 mangroves just starting. 50g sump. And the tank is a 215g.

Right now for feeding i have been using reef snow daily. As well as redseas. A and B daily. Adding in zoo and phyto plankton daily as well.

Im checking water levels daily to make sure nothing starts to spike at all.

Im nkt spot feeding him just adding 1/2 my daily dosing in the morning when i get up for work at 7am. And the second half when i get home around 5pm.

I have had the tank up and running now for about 6 months. Recent upgrdae from my 90g. I had running for about a year.

Thank you for any help or information at all.

While there are a select few species which can be kept in a dedicated system, the all red ones never survive. You can try feeding it different small, meaty foods 3+ times a day, but it's impossible to tell if they are accepting what is being offered and they can take months to fully starve to death leading people to think they are having success.
