I'm assuming that's what they're called, I'm talking about all the things under someone's username. It would be great if there was a way to stop the animated ones. Even if they just ran for 1 cycle or X seconds after the become viewable and then stopped, but even better, a way for people to turn them off so we don't have to see them. For me, personally, I can't read when there's something animated on the screen as well. I simply can't focus on the text with that going on. I end up trying to keep it scrolled off the screen or use uBlock Origin to hide them, but that all only works to a point.
FWIW, it's no skin off my back one way or the other. I've been in the hobby long enough at this point that I'm not spending multiple hours each day here anymore and I'm in the process of letting my tanks wind down, with plans to be out of the hobby in the next 5 years or so. But, in any case, I'm guessing I'm not the only one that gets irritated by that. Also, it's nothing about this site specifically. Lots of sites do it (and I've had to stop going to some of them over it, but they were far worse than this site). At least on facebook you can click on gifs to get them to stop looping.
