So what is the current word on feeding corals? Some say it’s not necessary and all you have to do is keep things stable. Some say they see tremendous growth and/or improved color. And you also hear that your phosphates sky rocket. Is there a consensus or is it all ad hoc?

From a biological standpoint, feeding benefits coral assuming it doesn’t pollute your water and drive nutrients through the roof. Is it right for you? Depends on the tank and what your expectations are.

I used to feed my corals, but it had a noticeable affect on my phosphates. I stopped for that reason and because I didn't think it did much for my corals. I kept mainly softies and LPS in that tank with a few easy SPS.

I feed frozen and don't drain the liquid so I think that helps as well.
