The female Orange Lyretail Anthias is a vibrant, peaceful reef fish that thrives in well-established marine aquariums of 70 gallons or more. Preferring midwater swimming areas with plenty of rockwork for shelter, these anthias do best in groups, as they exhibit natural schooling behavior that reduces stress. They are carnivorous, requiring frequent small feedings of frozen Gamma mysis, brine shrimp, copepods, or high-quality prepared marine foods to support their high metabolism. Sensitive to water quality and temperature fluctuations, maintaining stable reef conditions with moderate flow and proper lighting ensures they remain healthy and display their characteristic orange coloration. Properly cared for, female Orange Lyretail Anthias add constant motion, color, and vitality to community reef tanks.
