Fighting clowns

So I got up this morning and ask always, I sit to have breakfast with my daughter and I just stare at my tank because I love to watch my fish swim, it’s very calming to me. But what surprised me is that I see my mocha clowns chasing each other almost all day today.. they’ve been in my tank for months and they were ok, but now all of a sudden I see this, and I see it as aggression because it’s mostly one that chases the other around until the other finds a hiding spot. Could this be temporary or is this a problem?

YES! I do see that when the one chasing gets near, the other one twitches.. what does that mean?

They might be doing the dance of romance.

However, is there a size difference between the two clowns. Females are always larger than the male. If they have done the sex change thing and you have two females, that could be a problem.

Yes the one being chased is smaller Than the other one.. one is about 2 1/2 inches and the other one is about 2 inches, maybe a little smaller. What should I do if they keep chasing each other?

Usually that is a sign of submission in clowns. Keep a close eye on them. If they were mine I would let them try to work it out. If one starts getting beat up pretty bad then you will need to step in.

The behavior just started today.. so I’ll keep an eye on them and see how it goes tomorrow.. I’ve just never seen this kind of behavior in clownfish before so I freaked out a little.. I’m hoping they work it out and pair up.
