Electrician came by yesterday for the dedicated circut.....quotes me $746 to run a new outlet. Needless to say it did not get done, one of the guys in the local group is an Electrician and said he can do it for 1/3 the price they told me. So good news I found who will do it. Bad news I have to leave for work a couple times over the next couple months. Not completely going on hold but things are slowing down alot. Still planning on cycling by the end of summer.

are you going to do custom rock work? if so you can get that done and start cycling those couple of months will make a big difference. heck even if you cant get the rock cooking maybe some media?

I have rock its setting on my work bench in the garage. We have been playing around with the scape. Might try and get it motored together this weekend well see. I plan on doing a long cycle with no lights and by long I mean 2 months or so I want the tank fairly mature before I start moving corals over. I will add fish before lights a week or so in once the cycle is done. Kinda basing it off the brs wwc hybrid system except ill have sand.

Good luck. I highly recommend people lookn into them. They are very nice quality, I have looked at alot of red sea and water box tanks in local stores, and these imo are just as good if not better. The selling points for me were the sump and I could do the plumbing how I wanted, and the big one was the price.

Put my training from all my wife's ikea purchases to use today as I assembled the stand. Pretty simple the instructions were a bit vague but I have assembled several things that are similar to this. Still need to adjust the doors once it's in place and level.

I have been slightly stressed about space in the cabinet since I got the 24 in sump instead of the 20 but it will work perfectly.

Quick question as I see your pics on stand and sump. I’m purchasing the 76EXT which is same footprint as your 81EXT, I see you have the 24 sump in the cabinet and you have a little left over space between it and the ato. I’m purchasing the 30 sump, do you have an extra 6” in that gap between sump and ato reservoir?

No as it is with the 24 and ato I have just under 4.5"

I was told by Fiji Cube that the 30 sump (30" wide) would fit side by side with the ATO reservoir that comes with system under the 4 cabinet. I think the ATO is 6" wide?

Forget it, I just noticed you got the Fiji Cube 81EXT which is a 3' tank across, I got the 76EXT which is a 4' tank.

The no update update. Things have been crazy with work and life in general not much has changed. I have received what I believe to be the last 2 couplings for the plumbing. Hope to have time this upcoming weekend to glue everything. I was hoping by summer to have the tank in the house and cycling but things have been crazy and money has got a bit tight so things are gonna slow down a bit.

Well it's not a new tank update but it's one on the tank that is being replaced by the new one lol. Nitrates have been high lately probably because I was lazy a couple weeks ago and fed pellets for a week or so straight. Also my skimmer hasn't been skimming the last week or so. I'm gonna pull that apart tomorrow and clean it hopefully that fixes it. Also I'm gonna cut down the feedings to every other day and back to frozen mysis that has been rinsed well. Did a water change today and took some pictures. Think I may try and invest in a decent camera to take better pictures. Everything in pictures plus some I couldn't get good ones of will be going to the new tank once it's up and running.

Love this build. Im a complete newbie and am terrified of screwing up the plumbing, but my heart is set on a sump in the bottom that I can customize so I guess I'm going to have to learn!

This is my 4th tank but first one with a sump. So far with the help from here, YouTube and my LFS it has gone fairly easy. I Definitely recommend fijicube if your looking for a tank.
