Filling my new 100 gallon tank for flow testing. Want to see what flow looks like with this awkward design. Suggestions are appreciated because I know this is not normal

Definitely a unique tank. How did you end up with it? Looks like it could make a nice mixed tank since you might be able to limit flow in the side opposite the overflow.

It’s custom for under my stairs so there is a post it wraps around to show into the living room. Check out the build thread for more details.

I’m planning on a mixed tank which is really exciting for me because I can really get to learn and touch each part of reefs.

And on the coralline algae cleaning…I’ve been researching the best way to do that without scratching the acrylic. Recommendations are welcome

I just think you're going to need more than the normal number of powerheads to prevent deadspots.

I would probably use a gyre with that cutout area where the post is, vertically, and pointed at the side wall at about 30 degrees.

Then the rest of the tank probably gets two more powerheads of any type...
