I’ve made my sump diy without any research on why these chambers are the way they are lol. I pretty much copied pictures. My drain flows as pictured, pretty hard, into the side of my filter sock. How is your drain directed into your sock/socks?

Mine fill up a single chamber then flow over top to a mesh sock then to a felt sock. I would raise the water level where your sock is to completely submerge that sock and extend drain pipe into it. That would fix the rapid draining and quite it down.

True, I like how my sock is set up...it’s not over flowing and it’s capturing debris, but I’m wondering if I should try to get my drain to have more of a wide flow into the sock so it’s not shooting into the side of the sock. I turn it a little so it’s not hitting the same spot, but it seems like by blasting the water in I’m not using the whole sock efficiently.
