Filter sponge smells like plastic!

I bought these a year ago and they were sitting in a Rubbermaid container and now they smell like plastic and the container! Is it bad? Can it be toxic to Hewbie and friends? I did rinse it! Thoughts? Maybe I’m being paranoid and I suspect I probably am!

I'm sure its fine, but nothing I would risk with these kinds of things not being super expensive. Especially with all that Hewbie has gone through before!

Agreed! I think I will just get new ones and not store them like that next time.
