Finally caught him puffed up on camera

Happy Friday !!

Is it blurry ??

Is the whole “they need to stretch their skin” thing real or is he getting bullied by the clowns?? :)

They do need to stretch every now and again. I wouldn't think the clowns were pestering him that much to make him blow up but you never know.

Agreed I was thinking the same, I’ll have to keep a better eye out

Thank you ! I’m getting lots of contradictory responses. People are saying something is wrong with my tank and he’s 100% stressed out, others say it’s normal. I don’t know who to believe !

Believe me

Believe me, I have been in this a long time. I currently have a Narrow-Lined puffer (he already has blown up 3 times and nothing is bothering him. I also had a Dog Faced puffer for 10 years believe it or not and he puffed up about 4 or 5 times, a couple of times he was angry with me cleaning the aquarium and the other times he just did it. Leave things alone. If something were wrong he will repeat the behavior multiple times in a short period of time. Chill!:cool:

I sure can. I’ve seen mine do it more and sometimes at his own reflection but he does deflate pretty instantly especially after he seems how much of a heart attack he gives me lol. He’ll be fully puffed and then if he sees me he deflates instantly. Almost like saying, “I’m okay don’t worry mama!” They do truly do it to stretch but it’s also a defense mechanism. I know some who do it daily. I wouldn’t worry only if he stays puffed or can’t deflate then I would worry. They are incredibly intelligent/personable the saltwater puppy dogs of the sea.
