Fire shrimp lifespan exceeded?

So I have had my fire shrimp for about 5
And I heard that they only live for 2.5 years or something, is that correct and am I really lucky??
His name is Ragnar and he is awesome.

Not sure about fire shrimp, but I had a coral banded shrimp for 12 years. Most critters seem to be able to live MUCH longer than books or websites list as their lifespan.
