My clownfish pair Started laying eggs this summer. So with the pandemic going on and much more time home, I though I would give it a shot to try and save a clutch
I read a lot of info on this site and watched countless hrs of videos on youtube. I also contact Reeds to purchase the Rotifers and all else needed to cultivate them. I have a 100 gallon tank that the parents are in and they laid on a leather so I was only able to collect about 25 of the fry using a vossen trap.
I used a 10 gallon tank to keep them in
Blacked out 3 sides.
It’s just about a month now so I am able to get pics of the babies now with color
I lost 5-6 fish in the process.
Attached is a pic of the set up and babies
Water level low. About to drip in new water.

Awesome! Great job doing your homework. Are they taking TDO?

Yes. I started them on day 3 with TDO A. Mixed with the Rots. Now on B1. I bought a brine hatch but after researching I decided not to use it
If you get them on TDO you don't need bbs. Good job on your first go around sounds like you did a ton of homework. May I suggest putting a tile where they lay eggs so that maybe the clowns will lay on that so you can pull it out on hatch night. It makes life a little more simple. I used to use a 3x3 inch tile for growing frags. Also keep notes of everything you do so that you can look back and see what worked and what didn't. I've rambled enough. Great job on the clowns hope you do well the next go around too.

Well done!

Any idea how many have the snowflake pattern vs. the typical pattern?

4 out of 19 have the regular pattern. There are two extremes ( mostly white). And a few with very unique patterns

That is very cool. My son has talked me into same. Will be using the vossen trap in the next couple of days to try to catch our first try.

So cool! I'd like to do this in the future. It's part of my retirement plan lol. That won't be for about 40-50 years tho XD

I’m on my first fry right now- I caught a bunch in my trap, and I’m about 3 days CNN post hatch.
two questions:
1) how do you know how much light is enough?
2) did you start the fry with a sponge filter from the beginning?
