Everything is doing healthy except my sunny D’s and punk rockers. Their polyps are never full open. I think it’s because flow and light (they’re starting to stress). Once I get my replacement corals in (hopefully Friday) and figure out where they’re going I might move them. Got the doser set up! Pretty easy to calibrate but we’ll see how stable it keeps everything when I check in a couple days. New pic of my hammer coral under white lights, it’s super pink :)

Doesn’t take any special skills to build it. I’m only 17 and just went off what I’ve learned working with dad lol. Thank you for following along on the journey :) Gonna be a nice update on Friday with 26+ corals coming in

the messed up thing is my father does this EXACT type of stuff. could build this in his sleep. But he had all girls and his answer to us asking if we could help was always "yeah by getting out the way" lol I should have told my mother on him

Just wanted to share some of the feeding reactions I get from my corals when I feed reef roids and Nano reef frenzy. I mix both with live phyto that I have increased to 50ml a day. The creepy bristles worms always come out  The mushrooms, favia, and hammer are my favorite because you can tell they love it. Zoas are hit or miss for me, but most give a reaction.

Corals, phyto plankton, and f2 fertilizer came in today. Everything looks great. I got all the corals acclimated, dipped, and in the tank. Also got my phyto culture started with nanno and tetra species. Super happy with everything we’ll see how they look moving forward

Well it’s been a pretty sucky couple days. I’ve confirmed I have osteprosis dinos (the toxic ones). They’re multiplying like crazy and ticking off all my corals especially the zoas. I’ve spent way more then I could afford today between a UV, pump for it, 50micron sock for manual removal, MB7, and a bunch of stuff to culture pods. You could argue that the stuff to culture pods wasn’t necessary but I know they’ll help compete plus I really want a mandarin so that’ll make it easy without worrying that it’ll starve. The good news is... I have no corals that have died yet AND I went to the LFS and they had a DRACULA GOBY again. I know it’s expensive and I can’t afford it but I had to just because they’re so rare. They literally got it a few minutes before I went in (it was still in the original bag) I also bought a Randall’s shrimp with it. I pre dug a hole for them and they both went in. The shrimp wasn’t looking too hot after acclimation but we’ll see. UV doesn’t come until Friday so probably won’t see a big change in dinos until then. Sad times

Today I took myself on a little field trip to visit some new fish stores. They were all nice but I wasn’t looking to buy anything. I went to a shop that hasn’t even officially opened yet with a super friendly and young owner and he had a great selection of healthy corals, needless to say I ended up buying a neon green octospawn. Very good price and very vibrant. The pic obviously isn’t it’s true self as the lights have been off for a few hrs (he got added after dark so I never got the chance to take a good pic) I also stopped by my usual shop and picked up some tisbe and tigger pods to start culturing them so I can get a dragonet soon. Phyto is ready to be split tomorrow. UV is also coming in tomorrow so I can knock these Dino’s out for good.

Too lazy to give full update and tons of pics but I now have 2 cultures for each of my 2 species. I have 4 cultures of pods going. And I’ve picked up 2 torches and an octospawn :)
Also installed a UV and beat dinos super quick. Still running it nightly for a bit longer to ensure they’re gone
Here’s a new tank pic with everything in their hopefully permanent homes

Thank you! Yeah I really need to chill out, and of course there’s a reef convention coming up in a few weeks and I’ll probably end up walking out with something when I know I can’t fit anything else o_O
