First Time SPS!

Hey guys, Since my rebuild I have added a 250 Mh 14k phoenix and am trying my hand at some SPS. Here are my favorite 2!

Tricolor of some sort?

And my Green Slimer :)

What can I do to get my polyps to extend more on that tricolor... had it 2 weeks or so roughly!

Hey, nice close up shots! I wouldn't worry about the tri color just give it some time. What kind of flow do you have in its vicinity?

I'd say that's good extension for a tri color, IMO. Your slimer looks nice too:)

@dougers31 It's between two of the returns and in the "mix" from the 2 powerheads and 1/2 way down the 40 breeder under a 250w MH with a 14k Phoenix.

@ramen again I'm loving the Slimer, just amazing to see that color from it and the polyps are just sweet!

great pictures there bud. I wouldnt worry about the polyp extension either. just keep it happy. I've tried everything to get more PE and there's no ryme or reason

Yep, my slimer was one of my least expensive acros but is still in my top three favorites.

I'm amazed that it was so cheap because it's colors are just shweet compared to some of the drab sps that I see at the LFS running $50+ for a fraction of the size!

Yeah, you should come the the fragswap up here in minnesota, frags like that for 1/3 of what you paid, very generous club up here.

I'm headed over to a local reefers here Sunday, if he has time, and hopefully he can "mentor" me a bit in SPS so I don't buy silly SPS for too much :P

That's the best way to save a few bucks in this hobby, find a rich friend who has a tank full of LE corals and guilt'em in to cutting ya a few frags;) JK of course...

But seriously if you buy only certain corals and he buys the opposite you could cut your expenses in half.

wow it seems the metal halides are doing there job well as the color looks great . Would love to see them in a month keep up the good work you will have 20 or more in no time ..
