Just post a full picture of the aquarium where the violence took place.
Your 8 line is probably a murderer.
This is highly possible as well. 8 lines are aggressive… esp towards other wrasses and smaller/less aggressive fish… they also hunt around at night

One of the reasons I keep away from those guys. 6-line 8-line. Mystery wrasse. I would like to know more about this story though.

That damage to the flame angel was not from a Copperband.

I had an 8 line and he was mean as ****.

However do you have better pics of the flame or the copper bands body?

It could be something bacterial from the image. Gram negative moves and kills fast.

Nephew walked outside and chucked him before I could say or do anything this morning

Angelfish is not going to live.
Tank is too small for the 3 fish. 8 line did not appreciate the other 2 foraging on his hunting ground, and got rid of them.
Clownfish are probably safe, short term.

From the looks of it, that’s a jbj 30? Too many fishies in there for one... Not enough hiding places two…And if the 8 line was in there first, it’s his territory. I don’t think that Angel is gonna make it. There is quite a bit of damage to his abdominal area, so it’s def not going to eat. I’d get rid of the wrasse, bud… see if you can trade it back to your lfs for a SMALL community type fish… fire fish, blenny, royal gramma, goby, etc.

Understood he was brought in with everyone else except the flame. The tank has been my escape but it's starting to backfire.

Are these fish for a larger tank and the 30 is a QT? Because they can’t all fit in here. If it is a QT it should only be for a few fish at a time and ones that can get along on a tight space. I would only add an 8 line last to a large tank with no other wrasse and alll other fish must go in first. I would never keep an 8 line in a 30 with any other fish. I would QT it alone.

I agree it is crowded but that Copperband looks like it was skinny and probably not well. The red streaks on the copperband and white area on the angel look like an infection has set in. It could be this just happened on its out and is a fast moving infection or perhaps the 8 line bit them up fighting for sleeping spaces and it set in quickly after.

You can’t skimp on QT. Fish need proper room and care and tank mates and water quality.

Yes they were going to go into my 75 I'm setting up.

The problem I have is I asked if they would be ok and was told things would be ok. I'm not happy about this at all
Did you ask here? Or lfs? I don't believe anyone on here would agree about qt'ing a new fish with an 8-line.
