I have a 180G tank with a Niger Trigger (4"), a yellow tang (3"), 2 clowns, 3 other tangs, a cardinal, blenny, damsels etc (18 fish total). When I feed frozens, the Niger typically gets the biggest chunks of food even if the morsel is on the other side of the tank. Yes, sometimes the 3" foxface or large female clown will get brave and eat them, but it's is not like the others cannot handle these large pieces. It's almost if the other fish know to stay away from the big chunks until the "king" has eaten his fill. The Niger is fast at getting to the food, but I think the other fish are intimidated to not eat the large pieces. I will say the Niger does not seem to bother the other fish but he is the largest and rules the tank.
Does anybody else experience this feeding hierarchy?
