Howdy, so i made an order with rusalty for 50 grass shrimp to stay breeding for Live food and a day later I noticed a random fish swimming around that pretty much stayed where I couldn't get much of a photo. Thought it was a mojarra but it's so tiny that I'm gonna have to wait to find out. We'll fast forward a week and now I'm seeing 2 more! One being cryptic and not allowing me to catch a good look at it but the other just didn't care. I'm thinking it's a scorpionfish but again it's pretty small so I wanted to get done opinions.

No not that mainly because it's from Florida. The shrimp are wild caught so it 100% came from the gulf and looking at the eye position it's for sure a predator.

For giggles I looked closer to the typical blenny head and it doesn't match. Whereas the blenny has a sharp round off the pictures I have show a longer taper.

Since it's sumped I don't think the exact ID matters too much, most gobies have similar enough requirements
The reason for it is the sump is where I'm growing out the grass shrimp so of it's a full on predator which is what i suspect I'll have to rethink my setup. Also this sump is standalone. 100% bought just for shrimp. Completely cutoff from the main tank which is straight aio since I plugged the holes.

Yeah your right, blew the pictures up and it does look more like a goby in the face. I dont think its predatory though? If it is I totally want one lol predator goby sounds cool!

I think in relation to the grass shrimp it could be predatory- if they can fit in its mouth they will end up there lol.

But sounds like a cool setup! Keep us posted if you get more pics
