Fish losing Tail

Then move what rocks you have to the corner. Adapt it temporarily for him until you can get more rock. That or get rid of the attacker.
I did, he ran to the other corner unfortunately.

I just wish he’d pair up with his pistol shrimp and live in the burrows. I think he’s scared to look for the pistol shrimp tho.

He has that. For whatever reason, he moved corners a week ago, and is pinned down. I don’t have any other loose rock unfortunately.
That fish will need weeks of not getting picked on to heal. I'm no medic but he doesn't look infected, but won't heal if still being picked at.

Thank you for the feedback! I should have my trap next week, at least I’m hoping, and finally get “Elsa” out of my tank.

I know it will take time to heal, I just want to make sure there are no signs of illness. I understand there could be potential infection down the line.

That fish is being eaten faster than the infection can take hold. I think it’s chances of survival are pretty low, but I also thought that Kansas City was going to win the Superbowl last Sunday.

I hope that I am wrong here again.

Next week?!!?
Put something in there now! A pile of pvc fittings, something glass or ceramic. Or section off part of the tank for him, don't make the fish suffer more.

Do you have an acclimation box? If so scoop your goby into it and isolate him for now until you can get the dottyback out that way it wont hill him.

Alright, goby has several hides holes now. I’ve turned the lights off so he can find a new home. I just looked, and saw his head poking out where my pistol shrimp lives, which is the first time in 1.5 months I’ve seen him over there… maybe they’ve become friends. That might be too wishful thinking tho.

Thanks everyone for the tips. I never have had to deal with a bully.

I like my chances, as long as nothing else starts snacking on Goby… ugh.

I don’t know why I didn’t think of using some small PVC as a temporary hiding spot. Makes me mad at myself. Goby is hanging out in one of them now. Obviously didn’t link up with Mr. Shrimp… I’m glad goby got to a new spot safely.

As for getting rid of the bully, I honestly might just have to bite the bullet and pull my scape apart. I’d obviously love to wait until the trap gets here but that might not be realistic.
