Fish only 100 gallon tank

You don't have to have a skimmer. It just helps with water quality, especially if you feed heavy or have messy eaters.

Hi there
A proteins skimmer will definitely help with your Bio load And take a lot of fish waste out the water And keep your fish a lot healthier

Awesome sorry for the late response but thank you all for your input. I have the tank running now with a couple tangs,a clarkii , damsels, snowflake eel, turbo snails and a banded shrimp. I only have to do more frequent water changeouts without a skimmer. Everyone is very healthily besides for my yellow tang. He has red lines threw his head and looks funny. I haven't pinpointed a solution any takers?
