I believe i deserve a pat on the back! Took out my Christmas gift that I bought for myself to use for the first time!!!! I place the tropic Marin hydrometer in my DT. It read 1.026. I took it out of the tank and proceeded to the kitchen with the hydrometer in hand…which is the next room to get a paper towel to dry the hydrometer. Holding the hydrometer in one hand and tearing paper towel of the roll with the other. Went to dry the hydrometer and dropped it. Fragile glass and what I believe is mercury beads all over my floor. It’s scattered in every direction for like 20 feet down the hallway under the cabinets. What a mess.

At least it was used at least once, sorry to hear

Why am I not surprised? But I will say at least you are getting all the mishaps out of the way early!

I have used refractometer with calibration fluid for many years. I just wanted to make sure its calibrated correctly.
