So Id like to use the canopy top that my brother and I put together when I first set up this tank. Right now its being used to hold syringes that I use to dose with. Im planning on taking the legs off the fixture and having the fan's over the top edge of the canopy since its an open top canopy. I was planning on using 2 x 4's and a few L shaped brackets and just setting the fixture on the two by 4's along the edges of the canopy. Anyone see any potential problems with this? Also a reason Im doing this is because my 150 watt halide and 4 t5's are 3 1/2 inches off the top of the water. I think this would help give my corals a richer color and help the corals on the bottom of the tank that seem to be struggling, a little bit of relief. Anyone see any problems moving my lights up 3 or 4 inches? Should I do anything with my lighting schedule to compensate?
