With the amount we don’t really know about alllpothy, I’d say “toxin” is relative. All corals do it. Leathers and acros Esp. Toxins in corals (fish too) decrease the farther away from the wild they are. (Like dart frogs, is food source based).
Many macros also do this.

So I have to wonder if this is lab tested or science based findings or an over abundance of caution or just personal observation.

One theory on diversity and the treatment of Dino’s and other plagues , aside from nutrient competition is allpeothy.
