I've had this guy for about 7 months now. Bought him as a blue flasher wrasse (P. cyaneus), but I'm pretty sure it's a filamented wrasse (P. filamentosus). Great fish, active, eats like a pig, but at some point it started developing white blotches all over his body except his fins. Pretty early on he actually lost his filaments as well. Never found them or anything.
For a long time I thought my yellowfin fairy (C. flavidorsalis) was simply bullying him and causing damage to his sides and fins. I added another flasher wrasse, hoping it would distract the flavidorsalis. Eventually, the blotches became even worse and he started losing color. Instead of a nice orange and blue, he's more of a very pale orange/pink. I decided to treat the tank (because there was no way of catching either of them) with Prazipro, thinking it might've been flukes or something. Treatment was 2 weeks ago.
The blotches have mostly disappeared since then, but his color hasn't come back yet.
Since the blotches are almost gone, can I assume that nothing's wrong and he simply needs time to regain his color? Or is there still something wrong?
He has gotten significantly more chill since treatment as well. I feel like I can possibly catch him while feeding frozen food, because he isn't scared of the net anymore. I was thinking either putting him in a separate tank to treat him for something or putting him in an acclimation box in the DT, so he can regain some strength without being bothered by the fairy wrasse.
Tankmates in addtion to the flavidorsalis are a Mccosker flasher wrasse, H. chrysus and a tailspot blenny.
None of these show any signs of disease or agression.
