I recently purchased the IM EXT 100 System and it came with the RFS 39 sump. From my general understanding of things, the fleece roller cannot fit into the mechanical filtration chamber (which seems to be designed for filter socks). I would really rather not use filter socks, so I am wondering if it's possible I could just hang the fleece roller from the wall over into the skimmer chamber? This sump is huge and my skimmer likely won't take up all the space in the chamber (I ordered a Tunze 9410 DOC DC as people suggested) so I'm wondering if this is possible or if I need to consider a different sump altogether if I want to be able to use filter rollers.

Will a Klir roller fit?
It might! What size of Klir roller would be suitable for an 100 gallon aquarium (so I know which model to check my dimensions with)? Also, is Klir reliable FYE (if you have one)?

We’re currently researching a new, larger N-Clear model designed for 4’’ filter socks. IM sumps are still a bit of a mystery to us — their filter chambers look quite different, and unfortunately, we don’t have one on hand in our lab yet.

If you’re interested, we’d really appreciate it if you could share a few photos or videos along with some measurements of the filter chamber. That would help us better understand the setup and evaluate whether we can make our next model compatible with it.

Depends on the size of your sock holders. The Klir comes in 4" and 7". It's made to slide right into the sock holders. I find it reliable but I have it controlled by my Hydros controller so I can't really speak on how well the Klir software works by itself.

I have a 7" klir I tried in my WB 330.7 but ended up removing it. Changing fleece was a pita compared to my reefmat 500. I would like to add a reefmat 1200 to the 330.7 but don't feel like crawling around to do the plumbing it would require. I run mesh socks which are easy to clean with a garden hose.
