So I upgraded my My 10 gallon to a 20 gallon floating shelf reef tank..
I used 6 lag screws half an inch thick 6 inches long. for support brackets I used 2 heavy duty 150 pounds each. For the shelf are use three-quarter plywood and metal strut.
I weigh 200 pounds I carried a 50 pound dumbbell and sat on the floating shelf didn’t budge didn’t even make a sound..
I am a carpenter by trade so I guess that does help me out If anybody wants more information or pictures I’ll be glad to share
