This morning I moved an MP40 up a few inches because I thought years of direct flow onto a Strawberry Shortcake table was causing it to grow funny. Actually, it looks like the flow was causing the coral to stop growing and tabling normally - it is sort of bunching up and not reaching out.

Anyone have issues similar to this?
Is a change in flow after so long advisable?

its hard for me to tell from the picture, just curious how far from the MP40? My SSC is within 12 inches at flow of 100% and continue to table. In the past, I have a some large colonies die and I'm convinced that it was because I changed the flow pattern mainly by placing other corals on rocks in between, so I have some 'superstition' about messing with flow and the 'laws of unintended consequences' .. either way looks like you getting good growth in your tank!

Yeah, I'm a little skeptical of this change myself. It's about 18" from the MP40, but, I run them all out, and it was dead on taking it all.

This top-down shows the stunted edge, and the "normal" edges that are parallel with the flow.

I recently saw a VERY dense SSC in a friend's tank due to having too much direct flow.
