Got a frag of cricket spine from battlecorals about a month ago that came in gray. After a week it turned rusty brown and hasn’t colored any more or floresce since. Will it gain back its fluorescence again?

Pic? White light.
May be dead if no fluorescence under blue/uv.

turning brown can be a sign of low light, or of high nutrients, or that its on its way out. Pictures and more info on your tank will help

Phosphate around .1, nitrates 10, Salinity 1.025, mag 1400, calcium 400, kh 12 (all according to salifert except magnesium is aquamarine). Not sure I’m reading the phosphate test correctly though, they may be up to .25. Not sure to put the cup on the color chart or hover above the shadow to read it.

Other corals all seem fine and fluorescent. Here’s a pic.
