Fluval 306 good or bad?

I'm thinking of buying one and wondered if anyone has had any problems? I've run a 304 before on a freshwater cichlid tank didn't know if the new models are better or worse.

I don't like them for 1 thing, there is no real handle on it, holding the locking piece can 1. accidently open it ans spill water everywhere, and 2. on larger models it really hurts your fingers due to the weight of water inside. Performance wise its pretty good though.

need a wider bottom too, easily tip over

Any media recommendations? Or is the stock stuff fine?

I just run with stock stuff, I have a 406 so the extra baskets I fill with rock rubble for bacteria growth

Yeah I was thinking of doing that but don't have enough trays to run rubble or bioballs.

Oh my god this thing is amazingly quiet! Great flow. I'm going to run this along with a refugium but ****, this thing is almost completely silent.
