Fluval C2 being a pain

Ok, i cant figure out this filter. So this filter was very loud, problem was i forgot a piece, i put the piece in by the motor and it started to become quiet. its not doing its job and it is very irratating. Anyone have this filter can tell me how to get it to work? i need it ASAP

working on it still, if i cant get it to work, i might get a new filter
