Fluval Flex 32.5 back wall to box seal

In the pic where the green highlighted part is where the floor meets the box, should this be sealed? It’s sealed on the sides and there seems to be some sealant where it meets but it’s loose. If it should be sealed, what should I use to reseal?

Yes I'm pretty sure it should be "sealed" but does not need to be water tight. I will try to check mine tonight, though there is a lot of rock in the way so not sure how successful I will be. . . As long as their is not a huge gap your AIO chambers should still work as intended. That said, if you want to get a better seal you can try. . . problem is two fold, getting silicone to stick to the existing silicone and getting silicone to stick to the plastic of the AIO. You could try to just lay a new bead of silicone over the seam though will have trouble sticking. Could scrape the glass and plastic (witch probably wont be easy) and lay a new bead of silicone. . .

I had that same issue, there was already silicone there so I assumed it should be sealed and I didn’t want sand going back there and getting sucked into my new return pump. So I just ordered aquarium safe silicone from amazon and laid a new bead over what was existing and it worked perfectly fine. I know this was posted a year ago but wanted to reply incase someone else had this issue.
