Focus Stacking (microscope thread)

I recently acquired a microscope, and having been into photography for a while, decided I'd try my hand at focus stacking. Anyone else doing this? I'd love to pick your brain.

Here are a few shots taken from a T490. Most are off the trinocular port, captured with a Canon EOS 60d, but one is from the eyepiece and captured with a cellphone. Stacked using photoshop.

I shoot macro and focus stack all the time, jewelry, watches, electronics, small product. However I found Photoshop to be less than useful. Once I tried Helicon focus I was sold. Best stacker software I found.

I have read good things about helicon. I have been meaning to grab a copy.

I agree that photoshop isn't ideal for stacking. Especially if you group layers to smart objects first. It's mediocre at best, but what I've got on hand right now.
