Found aiptasia

Found one very small aiptasia on rock. Rock has only one coral and the rock is removable. What are some good methods to remove it? I’ve seen things as simple as hot water as well as lemon juice. Are these a good idea?

take the rock out, scrape off the aiptasia,and put a glob of superglue gel over where it was so it won't grow back

Can’t you split the rock ?
Otherwise scrape as much of it as you can then run a bit of tank water to rinse it

Haha. Appears to be the only effective way to. I’ve seen members here say they’ve used a lighter or torch of some sort. Is it worth a try?

I just started a new tank and it came hidden on some rock from lfs (live), I e also bought lr from a source in Florida who states no aptasia and still found it. It’s all part of the process

What size tank? I have a couple freshwater tanks that's guaranteed to not have aptasia. :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing: I agree. Most reef tanks will have it at one point or another. I've learned to manage it.

Makes sense. I guess it’s good I got it so now I won’t have to worry about getting it

Sidesnips to remove the rock under it. If you have one tho, I'd bet you have more. They can be managed with certain fish or bhergia nudibranches

I would dump the rock lol if you see one there are likely more that you can’t see that easily Check you substrate carefully too

Found these on the rock. Is that a bristle star? Also is it good or bad to keep
Used lemon juice and superglue for the aiptasia

Yeah dude just get them while you can and use kalk paste or scalding water. Toss a few peppermint shrimp and if your tank allows it you can use the file fish as well.
