Foxface Looking Rough

I purchased a one spot via an online retailer. It arrived near death. When i received it, it was completely void of color and only some very subtle movement of one of it's fins. Somehow i was able to get it revived with a somewhat rapid acclimation process. It's been a few days now and i'm proud to say, it has fully colored up and it is eating. It is quite skinny; however, so I'm wondering if there is anything else i can do to help him recover and get him fattened up. I'm probably safe in doing nothing more and letting him eat, but i can't help but ask the question. TYIA!

foxface are notorious algae eater. You need to feed it asap. 100% will fatten him up. good luck.

What I would do is:

Nori on a clip 24/7
Food soaked in garlic
PE Mysis for fatty healthy proteins
Bloodworms if he gets picky, it can sometimes help.
Keep the water clean and keep the fish from having to compete for food (QT tank maybe)

Thank you both for the feedback. I have nori on the clip every day. I have some macro algae in the tank that is living that it seems to keep snacking on and I feed various frozen foods daily, which include mysis. Regarding garlic, is this simply crushing up a clove and mushing food around in it?

the foxface can change colors and at night usually camouflages itself - that paleness was probably his stressed colors mode.

Keep up the feeding, I'm sure he'll fatten up.

adding to the stress part - when you're saying it is in "acclimation", is it in QT ? if it is, make sure you have hiding places using vpc pipings and turn off light if you have one.

I had him in QT until he was able to swim ok. For a while he was swimming in a nose down manner, consistent with a swim bladder condition. He doesn't seem too interested in meaty foods but dang he loves the red macro algae that i have growing in the tank. He's trimmed it back noticeably. I assume he'll eventually make all that disappear, along with the nuisance lettuce algae i have on the pump heads.

Great work, bring that fox face back. Try to feed a variety of foods. Nori, mysis, flakes, pellets, etc. Just watch your water quality. He will fatten up soon.

Ok, i see how this guy is going to fatten up rather quickly. He eats like a little pig. He's already cleaned up all the lettuce algae in the tank and i've noticed a considerable cleanup in algae in general within the tank. He seems to care about live macro algae and film algae more than the nori sheets i put in there, but that's ok as the tang certainly loves the nori.
