limestro: it could be? I've never seen them before. Was that sample from Boston Aqua Farms?

Yea it was on display at the BAF booth @ MAX. He had ran out of the sample packs, so when I made a purchase of discs I asked to grab one off of his display rack. Its a little smaller in diameter than the plugs by a mm or two.

I got some of those also. Gresham was giving them out at his booth at the BA-CFM. They were from BAF though. Pretty cool plugs. I wouldn't mind getting a bunch when they come available for sale.

Ah, that sounds like the ones! I too wouldn't mind trying a few to see how they work.

I really like BAF's aggrocrete from a fragging perspective. (For Zoas.) They're typically sturdy enough to not break (some do, but for the most part) yet you can cut through them w/ SS Scissors when fragging up Zoas that grow on the plug.

I suppose it boils down to all of them having their pros and cons. :D

I prefer the gooch ceramic. But currently am using Boston Aqua Farms now. I will be switching back once they are gone. I just get too much algae with them.

I used the BAF ones and liked them, my frags would just get algae on them while the ceramics didnt. I also just use some little snips and the ceramic breaks easily into pieces when I want to cut the plug in half.

I have been using araganite plugs. Simple and cheap.

does anyone else hate plugs? i've spent the past two weeks trying to arrange them in my tank yet it seems like every other day i'm picking up something that fell and trying to put it back only to knock off 4 other corals i can't seem to find a place for any of them except like 4 and most of them i gave up and put them in the sand for now

prop.......

Personally, I have always hated round plugs and I always will, they are so inefficient. I can fit a lot more tiles on my racks than I can of plugs and they have more surface for corals to grow on.
Here's some shots of my fragies. The larger tiles are the 1.5" Ocean Wonders and the smaller ones are marble. I've been using the marble tiles for about 2 months now and I can actually say that I like them better than the aragonite tiles and so do my corals. I have found that all of my corals adhere faster to the marble tiles and grow just as well. I only wish I could find them in 1.5". I have had no adverse effects in my tank from the marble and it looks more natural than the white tiles. Super glue gel just doesn't stick quite as well to the Ocean Wonders tiles compared to marble.

The plastic is so unnatural in my opinion, and an eyesore in the tank! I have been using the BAF since I bought a bunch of them...but after seeing those donuts from Gooch...I am sold...very natural looking and very versatile.
