I'm ready to get back into fragging. Just looking for suggestions on which way I should lean with the new tank. I built one with acrylic and honestly its a pain in the a#@ to maintain. I'd like to possibly use starphire glass or possibly some type of holding tank like you see the importers use. I'm not sure where to get the glass and the best way to handle the seams. Can I buy or make a holding tank? Does any companies make a frag tank. I'd like it to be at least 4' long. I'd rather it be too big and eventually grow into it than too small and outgrow it. Any suggestions are appreciated!

I may be way off here I admit.. but would it be reasonable to drill and connect two 20 longs? The reason it occurred to me is I got a 20 long back during the $1 per gallon sale and built a frag tank. I drilled it and plumbed it into my main system. Now, I have done a rethink and use it as a display refugium. Meaning I use it to provide a refuge for critters I can not put in my main display, and it is on my desk. But after doing that this idea seems plausible.

Use a 55 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank.
Fairly cheap you can drill it and add a bulkhead fairly easily and it has great dimensions.
I used one for my propagation tank.
Here's some pics if mine.

roryb24: How many watts of LEDs and what color mix are you using on your system?

As for the orignal post: Since its just a frag system and not a DT I'm with rory or fragmatics ideas. If not the tub then just plumb a couple tanks (I would go with 2x 40b rather than the 20L's though) into one sump. Just split the return with separate valves to get the flow close to even.

I have 3 AI Sol blue models and I have 2 par38 bulbs that have only red/blue/green LEDs for supplementing.
