If its a branching hammer, just clip the branches off where you want to with clippers.

Walls when Large often show a deviating in the coralite structure that is a good choice to use as a fulcrum for fragging.

Remember guys when fragging- if possible- horizontal placement of the frag, is often conducive to greater efficiency in new growth-

I have never attempted it, but yes i would think they are more difficult to frag, since you are cutting through the actual tissue of the coral. I am sure it could be done if you use the proper saw and get a clean cut and let the coral heal properly. Hammers are generally very hardy corals.

not realy there just more likely to become bacterialy infected.an iodine dip after will help some people also help them to seal by supergluing along the fresh cut.then good gentle water flow.its much easier on the coral if a wet saw is used if you crack it with a chizel its going to be a raged wound.

I have a friend who has cut multiple top dollar golden hammers with great success. Just make sure to get each frag with a mouth and it will be fine. Nice gentle flow for a few weeks too!

What about a baby off of a branching hammer i see theres a lil flesh is it safe to cut the flesh
