A friend had an idea of fragging a Scolymia australis. I told him it probably could be done, but no one has had the guts to do it. He said we should go for it. We used an inland db100 bandsaw to cut the scoly. It looks really good, I'll keep you guys updated.

For this I just used generic providone idodine, which seems to work for me just as fine as TMPCC.

That's something that needs to be put on video just for the 'OMG' factor. :)

Nice, clean cut. It looks like a winner!

You can cut anything... anything!

... if it lives is another question ;)

Really though, everything probably will, and I cannot name one species off the top of my head that I KNOW cannot be cut and survive. Of course, care while fragging, health of the animal, and tool used will make or break your frag.

how did you get such a clean cut. can you post a pic of the tool you used

He stated above that they used an Inland db100 bandsaw to cut the scoly. You can pick them up off fleabay for about $200. I believe they use them for stainglass cutting, but it's a wet bandsaw that cuts corals nicely!

Yup, what Sara said. They come with a pair of diamond blades. The diamonds blades normally cost about 60 dollars a piece so, really the bandsaw itself is very cheap. I've had this saw for a while and I am still on my first blade.
