Missing live rock and water or stone from a different aquarium makes it hard to get this thing stable. It all goes fine and well, but it is not really in balance yet.

I did it with Free Google Sketchup. It's not extremely hard to learn, but yes you need to watch a few video's and get the hang of it. There are plenty of free models to use. Some prominent aquarium parts are free to import.

The anemone is a Viridis.

I am in IT for a living. My father was a car mechanic, but we both love woodworking and DIY in general. I like to think it's DNA ;).

A new addition.

After 2 weeks (TTM) it went in on Saturday, and seems to be happy by now. Playing nice with the veliferum.

It was fat and round when I bought it, but it had some weird grey lines on it's nose, snout and part of his body. They went away after 10day TTM and are completely gone now. The kid seems to be happy and is swimming happily.

I also had a leucosternon in quarantine, but I didn't transfer it. I don't think it's the correct fish for this tank.

I think the clean look is mostly the white light.

I like the look of HQI, but I want the LED modern-day functions and power consumption. So I settled on 2x Radion XR30, which run al the whites and blues up to the max.

I mis all the fluor color madness, but you got to choose something :).

- Cheapest Canon 250D with Kitlens 18x55
- Mostly white light (I run XR30 with all sliders on max)
- Shoot in RAW (NEF) format
- Do not zoom
- Settings on manual, 1/50, F4(if you don't zoom), iso200
- With these settings you can shoot while holding (no tripod)
- Open RAW in Photoshop (or other RAW editor)
- Temperature to 50000, Tint to -32, exposure to +2/+2.5
- Export as PNG in 1920x1080

Dang, impressive!!! I have a Nikon 5600, which is pretty similar to the canon 250D. Haven't gotten into taking aquarium shots yet since my tank is still in the process of having stuff put in haha.

Nikon has .NEF instead of .RAW. It's the same and probably the settings in my former post are the same for Nikon.

I use to have a Nikon and it worked great. I had a D5100 and later the D5300. They both give me the same pictures.

Be aware that a better lens will enhance depth of field, zoom options and clarity. The kitlens works and gives great pics, but it has it's problems when going crazy.

I can't give advise on lenses.

The trick is to shoot darker so you are able to use a fast shutterspeed. The .RAW or .NEF makes shure you can edit the dark out of the picture in Photoshop or sorts.

I changed the cabinet. The original plan is still about the same, but instead of a second sump in the left part of the cabinet, I am going to make a manifold.

It will still all be working as a drawer and can be pulled out.

The new plan:

I bought a Vectra L2 as the new returnpump. I needed a pump for the manifold, so my Apex COR is moving to the manifold and the Vectra will be the new returnpomp.

I do not have any other method for creating current in the tank, so the Vectra is running at 100%.

Roughly 25x the complete volume every hour :thinking-face:

The new manifold wil supply

- UV Filter (upgraded from Reeflex350 ot 800)
- Fluidized bedfilter
- Skimmer (I have yet to buy a new external skimmer. Probably Delcter TC 1000xi)

I have 1 spare connection for future upgrades.

3x 16mm In and Out
1x 32mm In and Out

It's mounted to the drawer. The UV filter has a Flow Sensor.

The bottom part is waterproof by coating it with resin. If anything leaks, multiple analoge an digital (APEX) sensors will trigger.

And it's all in! Working without leaks and annoying sounds.

nice cat,, also i can’t offer any knowledge of this subject but what i can offer is
seeing tanks like this with center overflow & such are by far my absolute favorite
there was a lfs that had a 200-300g (i think) cube tank center overflow/return and it was stocked with all sorts of cool stuff
(weird combos too) feather duster starfish, some nudi i don’t know the name of, blue lobster, horseshoe crab & all the works
that got off topic fast but yeah LOVE THIS IDEA
