FOODS & FEEDING: The French Butterflyfish feeds on benthic invertebrates, tube worms, and possibly some soft & hard coral polyps.
REEF COMPATIBILITY: Only with great caution.
CAPTIVE CARE: The French Butterflyfish is a deepwater species and prefers cooler temperatures in therange of 61 - 66 F (16-19 C). It should be fed a varied diet of marine frozen fare and fed a minimum of 2 times per day. This species should be provided with plenty of hiding places and an established reef structure. This fish does best in low lighting conditions and may not acclimate to intense lighting. It has proven difficult to keep long term unless adequate tank temperatures can be maintained.
