Freshwater gravel in salt tank?

So I have recently bought Gold Pearl freshwater gravel and I was wondering what would happen if it was added to a salt tank (27 to 30 ppt).

Not recommended.
A quick Google search will show you numerous discussions on it, including how it won't buffer your tank, could leech things into your water, and could create other issues with algae and your biological filtration.
