Friend or Foe... take 2

So, bought this cool Acro colony last Saturday, with what the LFS said was an Acro crab, and last night found him cruising the rest of my tank... then scraping on a different smaller Acro frag. Doesn't look like an Acro crab to me... possibly just a hitchhiker, hairy crab... bad, opportunistic...

Any closer pics? Harry crab usually means gorilla crab, bad hitchhiker if it is.

Believe it or not there is such a thing it's a small crab that creates a symbiotic relationship with acropora. But I don't believe this to be it

Probably a "bad" Xanthid of some sort.He is adorable though.

Yeah he is cool... stunning blue eyes. I have another tank he can chill in for a while, until I can re-home. Thanks!

It looks like a coral crab, but an Xanthidae called Cymo.

Acro crabs are white with a black line across the face,I remember reading some where about crab with blue eyes are bad guys sump him!

There are lots of crabs nicknamed acro crabs not just white with a black line, the bandit crab. Google Trapezia and Tetralia for the good ones. Blue or white eyes with hairs are Xanthidae Cymo Melanodactylus and Cymo Andreossyi.

Lol, yup I used to to be like that on Facebook but I have gone off posting on that. Then I found this page, I prefer these sort of posts as I find the critter side more interesting than the coral side of reefing. Even though I don't post much on Facebook I still get tagged or PM'd a lot for ID's and things, but I don't mind.
