Fritzyme TurboStart 900 contains live bacteria as so it makes sense that the LFS keeps the product refrigerated. However Amazon also sells it. I doubt they keep it stored refrigerator or packages it with cold packs. Can anyone explain this?

Refrigeration is not completely necessary but supposed to prolong its shelflife

It’s prob also a good sales gimmick to have it in a little mini fridge by the register, seems more alive-y…

Youre right, I’m sure the temperature it’s exposed to in an Amazon warehouse or on a truck is the last thing on their mind

Just buy it local where it’s more likely to be live

I believe they post a best before date on the package and claim a shelf life of 4 months. Recommended refrigerate after opening.

Amazon is not the seller. It’s just on the site and they process the payment.
Amazon does not manage fulfillment.
Likely sent next day air or two day air.

Very useful information. Thanks

Nitrifying bacteria has optimum growth between 77 and 86 degrees F. Moving down into colder environments slows reproduction. So room temp is just fine.
