Frogspawn bailing and dying quick! HELP Half gone.

Few days ago I noticed this happening to my splitting frog. Didn’t get worse so I accepted my fate with the .5 head but it might be all of it. Paramaters:
Ammonia:0
Nitrite:0
Nitrate 5~10
Ca:400
Mag:1300
Ph 8
No alk
No phos tests

ALL with the exception, euphilia are chilling,and happy. Majority actually is.
Moderate flow IMO. Idk if slight shading was its downfall?? But I should add that the skeleton has algae growth all around even under the healthy bit. Idk if possible it took it over? Irritated the frogspawn to death? Strange though since it only occurred on the farthest left side. No ideas, no clues, no accidents happened recently. I’m lost and frantic

I still don’t see it!!

And all my hammers frogs and octos and smashed together and happy as clams!!

But I have days where this one is cranky or that one …sometimes it last a few days and then it’s back to normal

I think it depends on flow. If they’re getting enough flow while together they’re fine if not then they start deflate. At least that’s been an observation in my tanks.

If I uploaded a video would it work? They always never load or say content can’t be loaded when trying to view others. Or there’re incredibly pixelated

euphyllia is actually just torches. A while ago after some genetic testing it was found out that the hammers and frogspawns are in their own genus called fimbriaphyllia and they actually aren't all that closely related to torches at all! But it doesn't end up mattering in this case. Fimbriaphyllias don't seem able (or have any desire) to sting each other.

Thank you for the comment. I was not trying to imply that they were stinging each other. In my experience they still need some room to expand. They can be next to each other but room to fully expand is important. When they have good flow the amount of space seems to be less important. Again, these are observations in my tanks so I’m asking OP because I don’t see anything other than his return pump nozzle to create random flow.

The return is 280 GPH and I also have a Jebaohidden behind my nem box. My jebao says it runs 660 but I run it at 25%. So I think total turnover is around 400gph

So has it just died? There’s not much tissue in the skeleton.

Honestly it looks fine. Check the Skelton to see if the tissue has receded.

Literally in the pic there’s no tissue on the part. not really a side pic but it’s clear as day

So with the amount of algae covering the Skelton it’s been like that for a while.
Red arrow - the tissue does look receded but there is a ton of algea
Black arrows I see tissue

Again this didn’t happen over night.

This isn’t polyp bailout though. And it’s possible that it recovers.
I have had worse recover although they didn’t have that much algae growth.


You need to get a phosphate test and check that
