Frustrating day ...

I am so freaken frustrated!!! Been waiting to get a 90 gal tank and found a great deal on a 4 month old pre drilled tank, stand, led light Mann the whole package!! With rock and same if I wanted it for 300 buck... again wife blocked me and said she don't want a tank. No reason just does not want a tank....

What can't she understand!!!

I'd buy it , store it somewhere , give her money to go shopping ... sweeten her up Than when she's shopping set it up as quick as you can

But I have a little story for ya:
I actually have a 90. I had a 29 (and 5 other tanks but we won't get into those). How'd I do it? Told her a buddy was giving me a "slightly larger tank". Yeah, showed up with a 90 like, "What?"
Disclaimer:
I do not advise this method for the easily peterbed or faint of heart. Must add we've been married for almost 5 years at that point and she is very used to my shenanigans. I ran a production studio out of our living room for a bit. Spent ungodly money on a system for my truck only to have the motor blow two weeks later. Then paid a mechanic to rebuild. Only to find out he rebuilt the top end and it was the bottom end blown out. Oh the list goes on and on. I always tell her if we were to ever seperate I'd be a lonely sole as no one, I mean NO ONE would put up with my mess. Lol.
Oh, she likes the tank now. Actually sent me a pic the other day of some chateo that had snuck into my display and began growing asking what it was.

I would let her calm down and ask why she is against it and maybe come up with compromise. I spent 3 weeks negotiating where the new tank would go was worth the effort

My wife started this whole "let's buy everything together" to keep tabs on my purchases. ;) Of course, she tries selling it as a way we can "enjoy the hobby together". I ain't buying it. :p

There's nothing wrong with having your own hobby- your own purchases- it is healthy.

When I first got started, my FIRST saltwater tank was a 180 I bought off a friend of my husbands, gutted and upgraded the sump/refugium, lights, skimmer etc - hubby was there through it all, learning and growing .. he cannot stand the fish- not a fish person .. but he does like the coral - and it just grew from there :)

My wife has no explanation, says I just don't want one. I told her it would not leak or she would not have to clean it. All she says is its too expensive and she don't want it. Still trying to convince her I even told her I was going to put it in my mothers house.lol working on it. I just feel bad that she is not into it and if something happens with the tank its gonna be a I told u so!
