Ultra-Phos is a new aluminium based adsorber. If po4 is low already they recommend not using it.

I had my phosphates quite high and started using it.
First 2 days no significant changes but then it started to go down to 0.04 and stayed at that level

We have 3 different Phosphate removers:
  • Ultra Phos - (Aluminum Based PO4 Remover)
  • Ultra Power-Phos (Iron Based PO4 Remover)
  • Ultra Phos 0,04 (Reduces PO4 to 0.04 and keeps it there until the media is exhausted)

So why should we remove the ultra phos 0.04 once po4 reaches 0.04 ?

Thanks for clarification fauna marin! Any insight on how it only absorbs too 0.04 and stays there or is it trade secret?

A.G

You would only remove and replace if ot is creeping above 0.04 from the outlet of rector then u will know the media is exhausted

Hi Slicko, it's a trade secret. :)

A.G., like other PO4 removers, once it is exhausted, PO4 will no longer be removed and will begin to creep up. We recommended replacing our media every 3-4 weeks. Testing around the 3rd week is recommended because it will tell you if you can get one more week out of the media.
