I have a fuge that i am trying to figue out best way to mount a light.

I have a kessil H80 with gooseneck, but no slot or place on the tank for it to attach.

I am thinking of rigging up an L bracket from lowes or something from the wall.. or getting an acrylic block and gluing it to the top of the fuge that the block for the gooseneck to sttach.

Anyone have better options?

I like your L bracket idea. I’ve found the ones from the box stores aren’t always square, but if you’re using the goose neck it shouldn’t be an issue.

I’ve found quite a few small ones maybe 1 1/2” on each side to be very useful for mounting reactors and plywood shelves behind the aquarium.
I did have to source shorter screws for some of the applications though.

I will be that guy scratching his head in the hardware store tomorrow.

Haha, I am regularly that guy. I usually decide to buy everything I think I might need with the intention of returning what I don’t use, but it never happens.

I’ll take a picture of one of my little brackets, so you know what I’m talking about.

Have you got a picture of your sump area? Also is it a wood or metal stand?
A picture would help with coming up with alternatives.

Here a couple pictures of what I’ve used them for (my apologies for the quality on the first 2 images.), one of the bracket by itself with 1/2” screws, and one of the L bracket against the gooseneck bracket for the h80.
We’re currently using the light for some seedlings, but hopefully it gives you some ideas.

There is no stand.. it sit on the floor

Could you provide a couple pictures?
Maybe point out an area you were hoping to mount it from?

I used those same brackets to mount my shelves to the wall, I just used longer screws on those ones, so if that option appeals to you, the principle should still work.
