So we all encounter some oddballs on fish tank forums, what was your funniest or weirdest or dumbest argument you ever got into?

I'll start.

Somebody on a freshwater forum asked if they needed to use biomedia in their shrimp tank. I said it wasn't really necessary in a tank with light bioload because bacteria will colonize virtually all tank surfaces.

I got jumped by a kid who insisted that nitrifying bacteria live in the filter and only in the filter on the biomedia. :grinning-squinting-face: I got called a troll and a liar and told I was deliberately spreading misinformation because I wanted to see other aquarists fail. o_O:face-with-tears-of-joy:

My 30+ years of experience was NO MATCH for his 6 years as an aquarist with a single tank. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes: I didn't have the heart to tell him that I had tanks before anybody ever heard of biomedia. :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing::rolling-on-the-floor-laughing::rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
