Funny, felt like sharing.

My mother tagged me in this picture on facebook and said wow look at this, petosky stone corals that are alive! I never knew how beautiful they were!
I quickly and sadly had to crush her dreams and tell her no way could that be a petosky stone because 1) it's a zoa/paly 2) the coral in the image is a soft coral and wouldn't have a skeleton to be a petosky stone.
She replied with "oh..."

Just thought this was funny and wanted to share!

The stones are heavily found here in michigan they are fossilized horn coral which unfortunately would have looked nothing like the picture which is just zoanthids lol
